  4. Add water and dissolve. The green tea doesn't dissolve that well, so this is fine.

  5. Add the boiling water, and mix with a spoon.

  6. Mix and mix for 10 seconds, and it thickens and becomes syrupy. Done. If it doesn't thicken though, microwave for 30 seconds until it does become syrupy.

  7. Here I used 1 heaping teaspoon of katakuriko. It's quite thin.

Ingredients

  1. 1 tsp plus Grated ginger
  2. 1 Matcha (powdered green tea)
  3. 2 tsp or so Brown sugar or white sugar
  4. 1 tbsp Water
  5. 120 ml Boiling hot water or more (adjust to taste)
  6. 1 to 3 heaping tsp Katakuriko
